Bear Ephemera and Archival Repository (B.E.A.R.) was established in 2013 to collect, store, and preserve posters, printed documents, photographs, organizational records, accessories, memorabilia, and other materials. These materials document the history and culture of the Bear community and Bear-related organizations, businesses, and social activities. By saving and telling the stories of men who are outside the reigning gay aesthetic ideal, B.E.A.R. acts as an institution to promote a smaller group within the larger LGBTQ umbrella through further research and museum exhibitions.
Mission Statement: It is the mission of Bear Ephemera & Archival Repository to collect and store posters, printed documents, photographs, accessories, memorabilia, organizational records and other materials that proudly reflect and promote the Bear community.
